GDH is looking for a Human Resources Manager for our Corporate office in Tulsa! 

Summary

Leads the Human Resources Department and ensures a high-performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, empowerment and standards. Enhances the Company’s human resources function by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices to support the achievement of the organization’s people and business goals.

Essential Functions

  • Performance management of Human Resources department employees.
  • Recommend and develop department goals and objectives.
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel including answering questions regarding procedures and programs.
  • Oversee benefit administration, including open enrollment; act as liaison with benefit providers; reporting; ensure communication of benefits information to employees, perk programs including 401(k), medical/dental, short and long-term disability, workers’ compensation, life insurance, flexible spending, student loan pay down, public transportation, etc.
  • Facilitate new hire process and onboarding/employee engagement experience.
  • Recommend and assist in development and implementation of personnel policies, procedures and handbooks.
  • Oversee and ensure all federal, state and/or local employment filings, e.g. EEO-1, OSHA, ACA, etc. are timely and accurately filed.
  • Recommend new approaches for policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees in appropriate and fair human resource practices
  • Manage leave programs including FMLA, short-term disability, workers’ compensation, personal leave, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with General Counsel & Vice President of Human Resources to handle investigations and resolution of employee issues, concerns and conflicts.
  • Ensure process for terminations is consistently administered.
  • Develop and work with Marketing for Human Resources communications.
  • Develop and work with Training and Performance Management regarding human resources training.
  • Ensure company job descriptions kept up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for positions.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations that impact policies, procedures and processes and ensure necessary changes are made for compliance and best practices.
  • Analyze employment data to guide company strategic planning.
  • Support compliance programs (e.g. EEO, ADA, FMLA, WC, etc.) to ensure legal and corporate policy compliance in all employment practices.
  • Partner with Payroll Manager to ensure collaboration and teamwork between Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefit laws and regulations.
  • Maintain Human Resources staff by recruiting and hiring A players.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, etc., reviewing professional/trade publications and sources, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department consistent with the company’s hiring process.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.  This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional travel may be expected but not anticipated to exceed 10%.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Human Resources at the manager level.
  •  Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources at the senior generalist to generalist level.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in Human Resources at the manager level.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources at the senior generalist level.
  • PHR/SPHR certification.
